Bienvenue a la Maison! (Welcome to the Home!)

Yesterday was a happy, exciting day for us. No, I'm not pregnant. And no, we did not win the lottery. Something even better - Tim's little brother, Ricky, came home from his mission! He's been in (and around) Toulouse, France for the last 2 years teaching and preaching the gospel. It was so awesome to see him come off the plane (I mean - down the escalator) at the airport. He had grown a few inches and put on a few pounds - but he looked great (and tired from 22 hours of traveling). After he was given an honorable release from the stake president, we had a nice, small dinner and sat and talked and heard stories about his experiences in France, some of them quite funny. Like that one time a drunk guy they were talking to at the bus stop tried to grab his nose, and he had to pull out his mad kung fu moves. I'm sure that is exactly what Jesus would have done.

He even said the prayer over dinner in French! Totally amazing. He left 2 years ago not knowing how to speak a lick of French, and 2 years later he is fluent. Again - totally amazing. Having studied linguistics for a year at one point in my long college career, I find language fascinating and was thrilled to hear him speaking French. We're glad to have you back, Ricky!
