After approximately 7 months of vomit, explosive diarrhea, ER visits, bloody vomit, terrible bum rashes from acid diarrhea, daily tummy aches, doctors saying "It must be a virus," long, long nights, and worrisome days - we finally got a referral to a pediatric GI specialist and an allergist at Primary Children's Medical Center for my little Mia. The specialists generally work on referrals only. Thank goodness we are finally able to start this long process of hopefully diagnosing ... something (else - like being allergic to gluten wasn't enough!) Anything!
We are currently attempting to collect a stool sample. She's not potty trained. (And can you blame her? What adult can control chronic diarrhea, let alone a 2 year old?) And the poop can't touch the inside of the diaper. So we've saran-wrapped her butt. No joke. With all the medical technology and advances we have, we have resorted to saran wrap to collect a stool sample from a child with explosive diarrhea. Joy.

Yeah for saran wrap!! I hope you guys can find something soon!
Make a "Pull up" out of a gallon sized zip lock baggie! Just cut two holes in the bottom for her legs and pull it up around her tummy and "zip" her in! Ha! just a thought.
I hope they can figure something out! It doesn't sound fun!!! :-)
Just "dropped by" to let you know how much I appreciate the comment you left on my blog. Looks like our kids have many of the same problems too. We see Dr. Pohl at Primary Children's, and I like him a lot. He's leaning toward Crohn's Disease in addition to Celiac, we should know in the next couple of months. Hope they're able to find some answers for you SOON.
And if it's any consolation, we just did the scratch test for allergies with my 6 year old and she screamed 'til she was purple too. I think that crap about kids not normally responding like that is, well, crap.
Good luck.
